Bicycle Touring & Bikepacking
Bicycle Touring - a great way to travel
Hemingway is right - bicycle touring may be the best way to travel and it's making a comeback. You might simply grab your backpack and ride to a friends house in a nearby town or load up with camping gear and strike off across country. You might opt to "credit card" tour and ride from inn to inn. As riders have discovered cyclocross and adventure/gravel bikes, they've realized that those same bikes are great for touring. With wider tires they can handle packed gravel rail trails, fire roads and roads with equal aplomb. Rack mounts provide connections for racks and panniers, or you can simply velcro frame bags to a mountain bike and you're ready for adventure on a bikepacking trip. Here at Gus' we aren't just fans of bike touring & bikepacking - we do it.
